What this sheet is for
Most travel days go wrong not because of bad luck but because the timing was never written down. This sheet gives you a single-page grip on one day of a trip — whether that is a packed city-break day of museums and restaurants, a long transfer day with three connections, or the first day of a family holiday when everyone needs to know the plan.
How to use it
Start by filling in Today's Must-Dos with the three things that absolutely define the day — the timed entry, the departure, the non-negotiable. Then work through the Day Schedule column, writing transport, activities and meals into their 30-minute slots from 6 am to 9 pm; half-hour rows help you account for queues, walks between sites and check-in waits. Use Before You Leave Today to tick off practical items — passport, tickets, currency, sunscreen — before stepping out. Drop address, phone numbers, WiFi codes and local emergency numbers into Notes and Local Info so everything is in one place.
What is printed on the page
“Holiday Day Itinerary” is laid out as time-blocked day: hourly schedule column 6am–9pm on the left; top-three priorities, a to-do checklist and a notes box on the right. Under the title it reads “Plan one day of your trip hour by hour — transport, sightseeing, meals and rest.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Keep a photo of this sheet on your phone in case your bag is lost or your battery dies.”.
The priority prompts slot holds three entries — “Main sight or activity (book ahead?)”, “Key transport — time, ref. no.” and “One thing that cannot be moved” — so the sheet is already filled in for travel rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.
The remaining labels on the page are “Date / Day” for the date label, “Day Schedule” for the schedule heading, “Today's Must-Dos” for the priorities heading, “Before You Leave Today” for the todo heading and “Notes & Local Info” for the notes heading.
Two things about this particular time-blocked day are settings rather than text, and “Holiday Day Itinerary” has them set like this. Half hours is on (the opposite of the layout's default): split each hour into two 30-minute rows. Notes box is on: include the notes box under the checklist.
Tips
Write transport reference numbers directly into the time slot, not just in the notes box, so you find them instantly at the station or gate.
Mark buffer slots with a light cross rather than leaving them blank; this stops you over-scheduling when the day expands unexpectedly.
Note the local emergency number and your accommodation address in Notes and Local Info at the start of each day, not just on arrival.
The other layouts in this set
“Holiday Day Itinerary” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Travel Day Logistics Planner” uses the three sections layout and “Layover Day Planner” uses the focus page layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
