About these travel Budget Sheet sheets

These three sheets cover travel budgeting from different angles. The Holiday Trip Budget gives you a single-page overview of planned versus actual spend, from pre-trip bookings through to daily costs. Trip Spending by Category breaks each day into six spending categories so you can see where money is going. The Daily Travel Spend Log works as a running ledger, recording every payment and reimbursement as it happens. All three are black-and-white, print at home, and fill in by hand.

Choosing between them

Use the Holiday Trip Budget if you want one sheet that holds your whole trip — flights, accommodation, and daily spend — against a figure you set before you leave. Choose Trip Spending by Category if you travel with a group or family and need to see whether food, transport, or activities is eating into your budget. The Daily Travel Spend Log suits anyone managing a fixed cash amount or a shared expense pool who needs a real-time running balance rather than a category summary.

What each sheet contains

“Holiday Trip Budget” is the income and expenses layout — a four-row income table, a fourteen-row expense table with pre-filled category labels and budgeted / actual / difference columns, and three summary totals at the foot. Its expense categories run to 14 entries, starting with “Flights / train / long bus”, “Accommodation (all nights)” and “Travel insurance”.

“Trip Spending by Category” is the category envelopes layout — six boxed spending categories in a 2 × 3 grid, each with a budget line and six item / amount entry rows, and a totals strip at the foot. Its category labels run to six entries, starting with “Flights & Transfers”, “Accommodation” and “Food & Drink”.

“Daily Travel Spend Log” is the running ledger layout — an opening-balance line, a 24-row ledger with date, description, in, out and running balance columns, and a goal box at the foot. Its column headings run to three entries, starting with “What / Where”, “Money In” and “Money Out”.

Printing

Each of the three travel Budget Sheet sheets downloads as a PDF in US Letter or A4 from its own page, laid out in black and white so it prints on any home or office printer. Nothing on the page is carried by colour, the fields are sized for handwriting, and the same layout can be refilled with your own labels in the generator.
